Tall stucco fronts change how we light a roof

Two stories of stucco with a steep front gable is the standard Davenport elevation, and it comes with two practical issues. The first is height. The gable peak is a long way up, and it is the part everyone sees from the road, so leaving it dark makes the whole display look unfinished. The second is roof material. Tile needs a different clip than shingle, and the wrong one can slip or crack a tile, so we carry both.

Wide single-story fronts have their own challenge. A long, flat run of bulbs with nothing to break it up can look like a thin ribbon instead of a display. Adding a window arch or a column below the roofline gives the front more depth.
