Modern Facades, Flat Parapets and Clean Lines

In Laureate Park you will see traditional pitched roofs a few doors from contemporary homes with flat parapets, deep overhangs and a lot of glass. Each one calls for a different approach. On a pitched roof, the track tucks under the eave and follows the edge. On a contemporary facade, we design around the lines the architecture already has, so the light looks like part of the house rather than something added to it.

During the day, the track is color-matched to the fascia or soffit. On a white or light gray modern home, it blends into the trim line, and on a darker accent band we match that color instead. Either way, the house looks the way the architect intended until the sun goes down.

Laureate Park, Storey Park and the Villages Around Them

Lake Nona is really a collection of neighborhoods, and they do not all call for the same design. In Laureate Park and NorthLake Park, the front of the house carries most of the look, so we give it the cleanest possible line. Storey Park, Randal Park and Summerdale Park have many two-story family plans with gables over the garage, and tracing each peak gives those homes a crisp outline at night.

Village Walk is a 55+ community, and on its single-story homes the track sits close to eye level and the install is simpler. At Lake Nona Golf & Country Club and Eagle Creek, larger homes often have long rear rooflines facing the course, and those are worth lighting as much as the front.

On the Water at Lake Nona, Lake Hart and Lake Mary Jane

If your house backs onto water, the back is the side you see from the lanai and the side people see from across the lake. In Isles of Lake Nona or out along Lake Mary Jane near Moss Park, a lit rear roofline reflects on the water on a calm night in whatever color you choose.

We usually design waterfront homes front and back together, with warm white on the street side and something softer on the water side, or red, white and blue for the Fourth of July. Lighting the rear roofline also means your lanai is no longer dark on ordinary evenings, so you can enjoy the side of the house you actually live on.

Set a Schedule Once, Change It From Anywhere

The system we install is Minleon. Every LED along the track is individually controlled, you have 16 million colors to choose from, and everything runs from a phone app. You build a schedule once, such as warm white from dusk until eleven, and the house takes care of itself. When you want something different, you can change it from the couch, from your office or from the airport on your way home.

Most families use it more than they expect, with purple on Orlando City match nights, green for St. Patrick’s Day, orange for Halloween and school colors on graduation weekend. Kids usually enjoy being the ones who choose the color.

It helps in everyday ways too. A friend visiting for the first time can find your house by its roofline, and after a late flight the lights are already on when you turn onto your street. Most of the time you do not have to do anything, because the schedule handles it.

The price is based mainly on how much roofline we light, along with the number of stories, the peaks and angles, and the coverage you choose. It starts when you request a free quote through the form or by phone. Share your address and what you want covered, such as the front, the peaks over the garage or the lake side. We look at your roofline, lay out the runs and send a written quote with your exact price. Prefer to see the lights and the app first? We will come out for a free in-home demo. Once you approve the quote and pay a 50% deposit, we schedule your install.

The process is the same for a townhome in Laureate Park, a custom home on the golf course or a community clubhouse or entrance. Most homes are installed in one day. Before our crew leaves, the app is set up on your phone and your first schedule is running. The balance is due once the lights are on.

In December, if you also want wrapped palms and a lit entry, we can add seasonal Christmas lighting alongside the permanent roofline and take it down after New Year’s.
